I Guess We're Doing This

I'm getting old, you guys. Given the alternatives, I suppose getting old is the best outcome. But what I've realized lately is that I'm too damned old to be fighting with my hosting and trying out new software ever year. So I'm done.
This site has been using WordPress since the early aughties. Starting around 2004, if I'm not mistaken. That's 20+ years of plugins and updates and paying for extensions (not to mention hosting, which keeps becoming a bigger bill every year)... and I'm tired. Tired of maintaining CNAMEs and fighting off hackers and DDOS attacks and waiting for my FTP to upload or download files. Also, tired of (b/)millionaire wackadoos and their bad decisions.
We're on Ghost now, folks.
For the same price as my hosting, I have fewer headaches and YOU can sign up to get a nice little email in your inbox every time I post. I have no plans to introduce paid content, unless – and unlikely to happen – we suddenly have more than the 1,000 readers that is Ghost's lower tier. I doubt it. 300 visitors a year is good work for this blog.
I'm running about 3 months behind on my reviews right now. I have so, so many in the works that I need to finish. Delilah Dawson's HEIR OF STRAHD. The entire DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL series by Matt Diniman. A brand new-to-me author by the name of Lyndsay Ely whose book THE LOST RELIQUARY caught my eye. About a dozen books that didn't come from NetGalley that I think you should hear about anyway...
The world's been a bit crazy, but I'm going to try to get back on track. Clearly, the world isn't clearing up it's psychological problems any time soon, so the rest of us need to find a way to thrive despite it. Personally, I've also had some medical things going on, but I think that's back on track now, too.
So look forward to some reviews posting soon, and I hope you like our new home.
Love, love, love, love.
